Reading Stars
Focus for a day on all the things you read. Do you read the newspaper, your prescription labels, traffic signs, instruction booklets, email, junk mail? Can you imagine going through an entire day without reading? Can you imagine struggling through a day because you can't read? Think about how far you would go in life.
We are gearing up for the Summer Reading Program and we hope you get on board! Each Saturday last summer, wonderful volunteers from Trinity spent the morning with children who truly need your help. We had certain expectations last year. We invited children who were "behind in their reading level." Little did we know that some of these children were truly struggling. And we learned a lot. So we're charged up for this year!
We want to make it easy for you to participate. You may donate gift cards for Barnes & Noble, gift cards for Kroger or Food Lion in order to purchase the food for the program, sign up to help sort books, volunteer to be a reading guide for a few Saturday's this summer. We have many ways for you to participate and make a difference in the lives of these children.
