Meet Our Vicar

Trinity Episcopal Church welcomed The Rev. J. David Niemeyer on June 15, 2008 as our Vicar.  He was ordained on October 9, 1982.  His early focus was youth, families, education and empowering the laity in the work of the church.  He is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.  He is very active in the Diocese of Virginia and is the co-chair of the Race Relations Committee.  While taking a break from parish ministry, he founded and directed a Family Business Forum at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and taught Ethics in Family Therapy at the College of New Jersey.  He returned to ministry in 2008 and uses his education and experience in family and organizational systems in parish development.

Father David's undergraduate, graduate and post graduate work in accounting, theology, and marriage and family therapy were completed at  The University of Southern Mississippi, The Univeristy of Notre Dame, St. Meinrad Seminary in Indiana, and The University of St. Thomas in Miami, Florida.  He is married with two children.
